Being unsettled with the creatures that inhabit these webs, I am so amazed at the structures they create and how precise they are geometrically. I love the way the droplets of water hang in this web replacing the creature that made it.
I was not going to miss an opportunity to capture this sunrise.
Autumn is such a great time of the year with the fantastic colors of the harvest, bright colors of the gourds as well as the mums.
This is a view of Old Main on the campus at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. This building has always looked haunted to me since I grew up about three blocks from it. I stayed my distance as it appeared very creepy. I think this is a nice way to start off Halloween Week.
Relax it's Friday! Enjoy the weekend everyone.
This is a photo of my Niece's Unity Candle taken recently at her wedding. It is my first attempt at taking wedding photos. Thanks to my technical advisor, this one turned out very well.
This was a morning where all the drops collected on the tips of the grass blades, appearing as if they were people moving to the music while the disco ball illuminated their heads.
Champlin Park hosted a marching band competition two weeks ago, it was new for me and to see the students with all their colorful outfits was fun to watch.
Standing Proud
A tree has fallen and new life begins.
I felt with all the rain and cloudy weather the Twin Cities has had recently I wanted to post something more pleasent to view. This was taken on a beautiful September day with the hint of cool days, clear skies and a slight breese. I hope this helps to lift your spirits!
Very early Friday morning my future step daughter and I had a chance to go to the observatory at Jackson Middle School in Champlin, MN. We saw the LCROSS crash into the moon through their 14 inch telescope and also watched it simulcast with NASA on a big screen TV. The LCROSS mission was so NASA could test to see if there is any moisture on the moon. Even though it took some effort to wake her at 5:00 AM, both of us found it fascinating to watch this event take place.
The Rum River Dam is a small dam located in Anoka, MN. It offers anglers a place to fish and has a colorful light display at night.
Look at the form on this kid! This is my nephew as he practices his golf strokes in the back yard. You may be looking at the future Jack Nicklaus.
With the rainy weather we've had the past week, I challenged myself to make use of the rain instead of being discouraged by it. I am happy I stayed persistent.
I have come across these vines numerous times on my walks in the Elm Creek Park Reserve in Maple Grove, just northeast of Minneapolis. The berries have been blue in color but I have also seen them in white. It is fascinating to me the way the berries hang from the ridged stems and the vivid color contrasts. I will need to research to see if it's the same vine or not.
